How hunger affects decision making. • Many studies have been conducted to test how hunger affects the decision making process in both humans and animals alike. • In animals, more dangerous prey is hunted when the animal is close to starvation. • In humans, grocery shopping becomes more expensive and often times, thought processes transition automatically to a food the subject is craving.

A Brief History of Pie • Traced back to England called “pyes” stuffed with meat. • Modern sweet pies are credited to the Greeks – the creators of the pastry shell. • The first documented Pumpkin Pie was in 1675, credted with spiced squash. • A cook book in 1796 included 3 types of pie, while in 1947, the cooking encyclopedia included 65 types of pies. • Apple pie has become a staple of American Thanksgiving since.
