Hotel De La Ville • Town Hall • built in 17th century, but burned down in 1871 • Rebuilt in the 19th century • Used to be the main site for hangings, burnings, etc. • There are exactly 136 statues on the four façades of the building.
Revoloutionaries like Danton and Marat used it as a headquarters during the French Revoloution • Inside there is a large staircase, beautiful reception halls, glittering chandeliers, murals, and ornate woodwork. • Cool Fact- There are seven different types of wood used in the interior of the town hall.
Le Louvre Timeline- 1400- became a royal residence where banquets, tournaments and state occasions were held 1415- English conquered the French and destroyed the Louvre. It was then neglected for 150 years. During the reign of Henry IV it became the “artistic capital of the world” Early 1700’s- there were about 2400 objects of art 1793- After the French Revolution, it became a public museum

Le Pyramide Du Louvre • -Entrance to the Louvre museum • - Sits right in front of the museum • Was built in 1989 • Made out of glass and metal rods • -75 feet high • - Located on the right bank on the Seine River.
Il de la Cite Island Located in the middle of the Seine River It was where France began. It was conquered 20 centuries ago. Julius Caesar conquered a small village called Lutece, which was inhabited by and ancient tribe, Parisii.
