Overall EM Complex Progress • Productivity Improvements: • Reduced $50B from $192B to $142B (in unescalated dollars) • Accelerated the completion date by 35 years to 2035 • Risk to Workers and Environment have been significantly reduced • Total Reportable Case Rate (TRCR) and Lost Workday Case Rate (LWCR) have been reduced by 42% and 38% respectively

Overall EM Complex Progress (cont) • Getting Work Accomplished (FY03 Complex-wide results) • Exceeded Transuranic (TRU) waste to Waste Isolated Pilot Plant (WIPP) goal by 41% (6372m3) • Exceeded Mixed Low Level Waste (MLLW) disposal goal by 58% (118,361m3) • Exceeded Facility Demolitions by 133% (135 facilities) • Exceeded Remediation Completions by 21% (260 sites)

Recent ICP Performance: • Productivity Improvement – since FY02 the ICP has: • Reduced $10.1B from $25.7B to $15.6B (in unescalated dollars) • The ICP completion date is accelerated 35 years • Getting more work done safely • Getting Work Accomplished (FY02 – 6/30/04) • Eliminated 270,000 sq. ft. of the remaining EM footprint • Packaged and shipped 40% of remaining EM-managed Special Nuclear Material (SNM) off-site

Recent ICP Performance (cont) • Eliminated 80% of backlog MLLW and over 1000m3 of newly generated mixed waste • Remove all spent fuel from INEEL’s last three aging basins • Emptied and cleaned five 300,000 gal. And four 30,000 gal. tanks • Completed the Glovebox Excavator Method Project (GEM) and remediated Waste Area Group (WAG) 4
