  2. 1964 – Executive Committee makes its first change P. F. Fowle, president of Westeel Products Ltd. elected to president of the CMPI A. Buell, executive vice-president Rosco Metal Products, elected as vice president A. D. Curran, vice-president Robert Steel, elected as secretary-treasurer

  3. 1964 – The year of Proof and Information Technical Manual: Solving Drainage Problems with Steel Printed and mailed to over 5,000 highway consultants and municipalengineers across Canada

  4. 1965 – Information now available in French First Technical Bulletin Translated and published in French COMMENT RESOURCE les PROBLEMEMS de DRAINAGE avec L’ACIER

  5. 1967 – From Culvert to CSP – new product identification The CMPI changes the product name from: Steel Culvert to CSP Corrugated Steel Pipe

  6. 1968 – New executive announced Corrugated Metal Pipe Institute officially changes its name to Corrugated Steel Pipe Institute D.L.G. Turvey became its first President J. W. Wilson named to the executive board

  7. 1968 – From Metal to Steel – a new name for the institute CMPI officially becomes the CSPI CSPI goes from 11 to 14 member companies and 3 to 6 Associate Member companies

  8. 1970 – Automation, Structures of Earth and Steel CSPI Case Study now designed to do more than promote Corrugated Steel Pipe Move to become more topical – issues of the day

  9. 1973 – Freshening up the look A change in style for Case Studies and Technical Bulletins A more contemporary look for CSP logo The removal of the old CSPI logo design and the addition of colour

  10. 1975 – Increasing visibility through colour CSPI Literature takes on a more colourful appearance Full colour used for inside spreads

  11. 1975 C.R. Mallory Smith, elected as President John W. Wilson, elected as Vice President Keith C. Huffman, elected as Secretary-Treasurer

  12. 1977 – Strengthening CSPI perception by design Official introduction of the new institute design New look that would become the current logo application

  13. 1978 – Metrification Metric system a new language for the CSPI and Canada Published first Canadian Edition of Orange version of Handbook

  14. 1983 – CSSBI Takes Over Management of CSPI The industry consolidates from many small companies into a few larger ones through mergers and acquisitions Move CSPI to CSSBI offices, with several tons of orange books Reflects economic downturn for the industry

  15. 1991 – A New Manager Named To The CSPI Steven R. Fox named as General Manager TAC under coordination by CSPI increases production of technical information The Green Handbook Modern Sewer Design (Canadian) Version Design of Underground Detention Systemsfor Stormwater Management Design Software Launch of the initial CSPI website

  16. 2000 – Introduction of the CSPI Product Promotion Committee Time to reassess the industry Determine impact of alternative pipe and concrete THE INDUSTRY IS CHANGING

  17. 2003 – David J. Penny Named as new Marketing Manager New position whose role would be to: Examine and respond to decreased market share Determine the impact being made by alternative pipe Examine concrete – specifically it’s new focusfor a more aggressive marketing thrust How best to move

  18. 2004 – Increased Marketing • Increased efforts to inform the industry • Target audience exposure through print advertising

  19. 2009 – Marketing Initiatives Become Aggressive CSPI role was to clearly convey it’s role as the authority in:Water Management Solutions PLUS Need to communicate CSP Solutions and Applications WATER MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS PLUS

  20. 2010 – Applications and Solutions Fulfill the new positioning mandate through the development of website structured on addressing Solutions and Applications expectations

  21. 2011 – Expanding the Information Base CSPI to increase awareness within industry CSPI to focus on education Educate target markets Educate company sales personnelas to benefits of site Use site as tool to help market CSP
