Chronology • First Flood forecast issued 26 February • Second Flood forecast issued 21March • Province revises flood peak at 245 ft 20 April • Province req open-ended assistance from MND to commence 21 April • Winnipeg mayor declares local state of emergency 23 April
Canadian Forces involvement • Military preps Flood Contingency Plan 4 Mar • 1 PPCLI recce dep Wainwright for Shilo 15 Apr • Military assistance req 21-24 Apr – for 100 pers • Comd 1 CMBG req 1 Div HQ + 2 CMBG 26 Apr • Majority of Troops in location 2 May • 4 ESR eqpt unloaded in Winnipeg 6 May • LdSH BG dep Manitoba. ACC begins thinning out
