Why Metrics? • Measurement against a set standard that promotes consistency • Results in a quantifiable BC program • Allows analysis across all plans • With BIA data, establishes a priority rating and determines compliance • Determine what to measure based on risk appetite, corporate culture and continuity expectation
How? • With policy and standards, establish procedures with specific scoring criteria • Publish a user guideline – educate • Score plans and testing documentation for a complete program evaluation • Test formula for results and fine tune • Roll detail results up to management and Board reporting. • Keep it simple and straightforward
Reporting • BC program reporting, status, competence • Recovery component analysis • Stats: Completion for the year; compliance • Reports by Line of Business or BC Staff • Compare technology ratings to BC ratings • Share data with other assessment efforts • Foundational data collected where the business is conducted
