  1. Shielding a Magnetic Field of Neodymium Magnets The strongest magnetic material is the Sintered Neodymium Magnets, which is available commercially today. The chemical formula is Nd2Fe14B as it is largely made of alloy of boron, iron and neodymium. Sintered NdFeB neodymium magnet in small size offers high magnetic energy product with high coercive forces. Examples of applications include MRI devices, loudspeakers, permanent magnet motors, wind power generators, magnetic separators, and computer hard drive. A magnet, electric current or traveling charged particle have a magnet around them, which is an area having a magnetic force that can act on electric current, traveling charged particle or another magnet. When around the magnet, you drop iron filings this field is quite evident and along the lines of this field, you will see a certain pattern forming. There are instances when an object has to be protected from this field when a magnetic field is used in a practical application, and this is done by a procedure called shielding. Altering the lines of magnet, a shielding material is used. Therefore, in its literal meaning, shielding is not to be taken as lines of the Industrial Magnet are not stopped or blocked, and only their path is altered. For field lines to travel, the shielding material is better conductor as compared to air and offers a low energy pathway. The shield size is the next aspect to consider. To more lines of the magnet, a large shield will be exposed obviously; however to travel through the shield, these lines will not be induced. Usually, for shielding the space that is beyond two to three feet from the magnetic source, a shield measuring six foot square would be sufficient in a practical home setting. The orientation of magnetic field is affected by the way the shield is placed as the shield's surface is encountered. Finement and CobalTex are effective in high frequency applications.
