  1. ADCIRC Surge Guidance System (ASGS) / Coastal Emergency Risks Assessment (CERA) NSF Grant 1010640 Hindcast Modeling - Hurricane ISAAC 21-30 August 2012 • development and validation tool for coastal modelers • compare model runs with different input parameters (e.g. wind schemes) • compare the surge and wave results from the above parameters with measured data • improve the reliability and stability of the used model code • analyze the tradeoff of real-time performance vs. quality using different combinations of SWAN parameters • Comparison of ISAAC hindcasts with 5 distinct sets of meteorological data : (1) ADCIRC Asymmetric Vortex; (2) LSU Wind Model; (3) OWI Fast Delivery; (4) NOAA HWind; and (5) MSU Fitz Wind Scheme. • Compare results with measured data from USGS Rapid Deployment gages Maximum wind speed This model was used in the original real time response with the ASGS during Hurricane Isaac. Maximum water height above NAVD88 Carola Kaiser (LSU), Robert Twilley (Sea Grant @LSU), Hartmut Kaiser (LSU), Pat Fitzpatrick (MSU), Kelin Hu (LSU) Maximum inundation depth above ground
