  1. MAY NEWS 46120 Woodshire Drive, Sterling, VA 20165 703.444.6161 May is here and Spring is in full swing. We have had lots of fun learning about farms, conservation, and recycling. Everyone enjoyed seeing the space shuttle Discovery fly overhead and releasing over 1,500 lady bugs. These were some highlights during April. During the month of May, there are many more learning opportunities. Teacher Appreciation Week: Monday: Bring in Chocolate for your teachers. Teachers love sweets, chocolate, cookies, brownies. Tuesday: Love Note: Have your child answer the question. “I love Ms./Mr. ______ because…” Babies can “make” a card for their teachers using handprints, footprints and mommy or daddy can write a few words of thanks. Wednesday: Bring a Healthy Snack for your teachers to balance out all of those sweets from Monday. Thursday: Surprise your child’s teacher with special school supplies. Things teachers LOVE, special colored sharpies, unique construction paper, glue sticks, stickers, etc. We love anything that we can use for our classrooms. Friday: Ms. Lauren and Ms. Jessica will be hosting a lunch for the staff. Parents are invited to bring in items for a pot luck lunch for the staff.
