Berkshire United Way • HAAS Challenge Summary • Since 2009, 23 donors have taken the HAAS Challenge. • Most to move up a leadership level, 6 used it to join the Greylock Society. • The HAAS Challenge has provided around $35,000 in matches to those donors, funded by 4 donors. • We have agreements for $11,000 of matches over the next two years. • If the donors who took the challenge remain steady at their HAAS completion giving level over the next 5 years we will raise an additional $87,000.

Berkshire United Way Lost Donors Donors who gave in 2014 but not 2015 • -1,733 donors: -$288,820 • 1,405 lost in active campaign workplaces $203,318 • Largest are Petricca (69), Berkshire Bank (95), Country Curtains (107), Berkshire Medical Center (46), Canyon Ranch (48), Crane (46) • 326 Individual gifts $85,502 • 84 Donors lost in workplaces where we no longer have active campaigns - $6,831 • Two-thirds of all lapsed gifts are under $100

Berkshire United Way New Donors Donors who have no giving history since 2007 • +980 donors: +$111,439 • 937 new workplace donors - $105,498 (95% of $$) • One-third are Petricca (182), Berkshire Bank (120) • Stand-outs: Mt. Greylock ECF, Greylock, Hillcrest, Haddad, Brien Ctr. • 43 Individual donors - $5,941 • 2 new leaders ($3,000) • Net vs. Loss • -753 Donors, -$177,381

  9. Berkshire United Way Decreased Giving Donors who gave less in 2015 than 2014 • -419 donors: -$57,944 • 374 Workplace donors - $45,524 loss • Spread through many workplaces - no real ‘stand outs’ • 45 Individual donors - $12,420 loss • 67% of total $ is from 4 leader decreases

Berkshire United Way Increased Giving Donors who gave more in 2015 than 2014 • +1,127 donors: +$154,656 • 1,085 Workplace Donors +$151,104 gain • Stand outs are Berkshire Bank, BMC, Greylock FCU, Guardian, Onyx • 42 Individual Donors +$3,552 gain • More than 45% of the increased dollars came from leaders in the workplace • 40 Donors increased to leadership level • $20,735 in new money; half in strong workplaces • Net vs. Loss • +$96,712 in retained donors who changed a gift

Berkshire United Way Flat Giving Donors who gave a consistent gift in campaign 2014 and campaign 2015. • 2,741 donors: $558,616 • 2,528 workplace donors made a flat gift in 2015 • 880 are BMC employees where there is the option to do a continual rollover of their pledge - $106,981 • 127 of all Berkshire Bank employee donors - $33,644 • 151 of all Crane employee donors - $20,823 - some employees do choose to have a perpetual pledge year to year. • 213 individuals $115,265

Berkshire United Way Recaptured Giving Donors who gave in 2015, had not given since at least 2012 • +279 recaptured donors: +$36,459 • 269 workplace donors - $33,114 • Workplace donors reengaged in the company campaign • Donors who changed employer and began giving at their new workplace • 10 individual donors – $3,345 • 2 are leadership gifts

Berkshire United Way Key Takeaways • Workplace turnover accounts for most of our churn • Steward relationships with CEOs and key leaders within our top workplaces • Fewer donors giving more • Small gifts add up: • 2/3 of lapsed gifts < $100 • 182 new Petricca donors = $20,000 at 69% total workplace participation • Lots of small decreases = $50,000 • $108,000 in new workplace giving, 70% <$1,000
