  2. What is it? • High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) • High Power transmitters temporarily excite a limited area of the ionosphere

  3. Purpose? • Study and understand the physical properties of the ionosphere • This will improve: • Communications • Navigation systems • Surveillance

  4. Secret? • The program is completely unclassified • There are public tours of the facility • It is staffed by university professors not military

  5. Health Risk • Complies 100% with all electromagnetic and carbon emission standards • Has consistently passed environmental impact studies • Has lower emissions than most cities

  6. Impact Weather? • Weather is produced in the troposphere and stratosphere • Activity in the ionosphere has no effect • The ionosphere is bombarded by massive solar storms much larger than any energy we can create and this has no effect on weather

  7. Rip the Ionosphere a new one? • The effects of the transmitters are miniscule next to the constant effects by the sun • Effects durations are between <1 sec to 10 min • It’s like children jumping on a bed during an earthquake and blaming them for the destruction

  8. Earth’s Magnetic Field? • Common Geomagnetic storms produce waves 10,000 times stronger than HAARP’s transmitters • Earth’s stable magnetic field is 1000 times stronger than these storms
