Project 1 – Hardware • Elevator model contains 4 floors, single elevator shaft. • Elevator controller implemented using “pure” hardware: • PIC microcontroller runs specialized algorithm; • Hardware bundle: buttons, sensors, LEDs, RS232; • GUI on the PC for signal display .
Project 2 – Software • Same elevator model as Project 1. • Elevator controller implemented using GUI driven simulation: • Similar algorithm to Project 1; • Developed in Visual C ++; • Neat visual interface.
Project 3 – Hybrid • Differences from previous projects: • Multiple elevator shafts; • Keypad on the floors, not inside the lift cage; • Elevator controller implemented a combination of hardware and software: • Algorithm; • Dispatcher;
