Website & Directions • Find “Voices from the Days of Slavery website” • http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/voices/ • See “Audio Interviews” • Directions: • Each group is assigned a slave • Listen to interview and take notes on this question: “What was slavery like for the individual?”
Your group assignment: Create a 10-12 multimedia presentation (via Powerpoint) where you introduce the former slaves by providing a narrative of the following: • Who was the person? • Where and how long were they slaves? • What were some key recollections that the slaves expressed, and what does this tell you about the slaves’ experience? • What would you like to know more about the slave?
Connected Homework Assignment: • Write a summary response that includes all slave biographies presented. It must answer the following question: • “What was life like for those held in bondage?”
