  1. Speakers/Publications Committee Report 32nd FCAL Workshop May 10-11, 2018 Angel Abusleme Konrad Elsener Veta Ghenescu Bruce Schumm (Chair)

  2. New speaker committee empaneled March 2018 • Angel Abusleme • KonradElsener • VetaGhenescu • Bruce Schumm (Chair) • Significant loss of institutional expertise and memory with departure of Strahinja (who is sorely missed) • First action was to propose review rules consistent with, but a little more specific than, those in the MoC.

  3. Proposed Review Procedures: Papers • Lead reviewer is from S/P committee. • Second reviewer chosen from the collaboration at large (could be another S/P committee member but in general should not be). • Lead reviewer solicits comments from the collaboration as a whole. • OK if only the lead and secondary reviewer submit comments. • Lead reviewer oversees consideration of comments; has unilateral authority to award FCAL approval.

  4. Proposed Review Procedures: Talks • Both lead and second reviewer from S/P committee. • Lead reviewer, in consultation with second reviewer, can decide that practice talk is necessary. • If so, lead reviewer sets up practice talk with speaker and reviewers, announces talk to collaboration. • Lead reviewer approves (revised) talk in consultation with secondary reviewer.

  5. Recent Activities: Talks • ALCW2018 (Fukuoka, JP, May 28 – June 1) • Abstract accepted • Date/time TBA • Need to finalized speaker ASAP • ICHEP 2018 (Seoul, S. Korea, July 4-11) • Abstract accepted (#737) • Veta will replace Aharon as speaker • Proceedings requested

  6. Recent Activities: Papers • Intended for NIM: • Operation of the Prospective Beamline Calorimeter in the High-Radiation Forward Environment of the International Linear Collider • UCSC/SCIPP • Review completed (thank you Veta); submitted yesterday

  8. Other Functions: Archiving • After a bit of delay, list of talks, papers, proceedings, and theses now seems to be up-to-date; but please check • Please keep the Publication and Speakers Committee apprised of any developments in these categories (especially theses)

  9. Other Functions: Author List I am haziest on the logistics this. Perhaps Wolfgang/Aharon and I could talk privately about how to endure the list is up to date (I’m not sure I even know how to access it). Anything else?
