  3. Overview Blended learning design that seeks to: demonstrate a potential distance learning model illustrate the different elements required outline potential delivery and support issues

Example of a blended learning design • This design promotes deep learning because it defines a dialogue between the ‘lecturer’ and ‘student(s)’ on two levels: • the discursive level – where the focus is on theory, concepts and description building • The experiential level – where the focus is on practice, activity and reflection on action

Example of a blended learning design Core elements of design Workbook –questions designed to encourage reflection and debate Lecture recording (Moodle)–provide access to theory, ideas and concepts Small working groups –encourage dialogue and debate, share ideas and understanding with peers Submit exercises for tutor feedback –offer their own ideas, space to ask questions, use feedback to improve understanding and performance Apply learning to ‘real life’ scenarios –opportunity to take part in goal – action – feedback cycle

  8. Introduction to Moodle Moodle is a e-learning software platform that we use in MIHE. I will demonstrate various application of the software and how students can get access to it.
