  3. Hypothesis Tane thought that the red food colouring would change colour. India-Grace thought it would explode. Cam thought it would make a mess. Victoria thought that the red food colouring would turn a rainbow colour.

  4. Catalyst Zavierguessed that the yeast was the catalyst. A catalyst speeds up the reaction.

  5. The Steps Put plastic bottle in the middle of a pan. Mix 2 tablespoons of warm water with 1 teaspoon of yeast.

  6. The Steps Put ½cup of Hydrogen Peroxide in the bottle (6%) 4-5 drops of food colouring. A squirt of dish washing liquid.

  7. Result

  8. Ella felt the bottle . It was warm. The bottle was warm because the reaction releases energy as heat.

  9. The bubbles felt soft. It was warm. It was frothy.

  10. We loved feeling the froth. It smelt like soap.
