Poetry March Madness • Ignite an enthusiasm for poetry by joining us for a CFISD Poetry March Madness Tournament. • Search for a poem to represent your campus. • Submit 1 typed copy of the poem to represent your school no later than March 1. Poetry Evaluation Criteria “X-Factor” • How does the poem make the reader feel on a scale of 1 (no emotion) to 10 (strong emotion)? Content • Does the poem have a strong message or engaging story? Poetic Structures/Author’s Style • Does the author use a catchy rhythm, clever rhyme, and/or other remarkable poetic structures? Word Choice & Imagery • Does the author use precise words or figurative language that helps the reader envision the ideas?
