MA-presentation, RSLIS, 8th of May 2013 Course structure • A module offered as part of the International Summer School • 7½ credit course • Period: week 36-39 • Week 36-38 course and field trips (Monday-Thursday) • Week 39 supervision • Examination • Written paper, subject chosen by the student • Assessment: 7-point grading scale • Internal marking • Examination language(s): English

MA-presentation, RSLIS, 8th of May 2013 Course content • An introduction to different traditions and approaches to information literacy and their underlying conceptions and learning perspectives. • Examining frameworks for teaching and critically reflect on how to design information literacies instruction and user education • Traditions and approaches to information literacy • Concepts and theories of information literacy and learning • The role of the user in ‘user education’ • Strategies for teaching and learning • Approaches to studying information behavior and practice • Designing for user education • Cases and examples
