To help us identify the issues in your area please get in touch and tell us what matters to you. • For a penny a day you can leave a low-energy light bulb on mid-afternoon to late evening. • Use light timers when out for the evening or leaving the house for an extended period of time. • As the darker nights draw in, leave burglars out in the dark. • Always lock doors even when inside your home, or out of the house for a short time. • Set an alarm when leaving the house. • Keep your valuables out of view. • Register your valuables on immobilise.com so property can be returned to its rightful owner if stolen. • Never leave a spare key outside your house, burglars know all the usual hiding spots. • Keep bins away from windows when they’re not being used as they can be used as a climbing aid for burglars • Set up or join a Home Watch scheme in your neighbourhood.
