Generalized List Control • DEMO
Generalized List Widget Joint work with Kentaro Toyama • Parameters: • 1D parameterized manifold in 3D • “notch” point • closed vs. open path • inter-item spacing • may be per item
Generalized List Control Item Orientation • 3 degrees of freedom for orientation. • Can be specified manually or automatically in relationship to points, axes, planes, and/or path. • Some options for item orientation: Fixed Tangent to Path Facing Viewer
Generalized List Control Hit Behavior • Smooth many-to-one mapping of plane to 1D path in 3D is impossible without singularities. • Possible solutions: • Straightforward mapping; ignore singularities • Use of dynamic “springs” • Approximate mappings
Voice / video chat is available through broadband connections. People would enjoy being able to go to any network based game to observe the action, meet friends in that space and chat. Highlights of popular games would be featured on a broadband/television show featuring exciting action from popular games and generating "fame" possibilities for expert players.
