  2. “Aurel Popp” Art High School • has its name from the Romanian painter who was born in Căuaş, Satu Mare: Aurel Popp (1879-1960) • is situated in Satu Mare, a town from Satu Mare county • is the only art high school from the county

  4. Satu Mare- the town • has a population of 115,142 • is a multicultural town • Romanian: (58.5%) • Hungarian: (35.0%) • German: (3.6%) • Rroma: (2.5%) • and others (0,4%) • is situated in the north-west of Romania, very close to the Ukrainian and Hungarian borders

  10. “Aurel Popp” Art High School was set up in 1969 • It has two teaching sections: Romanian and Hungarian • There are 546 students and 113 teachers • There are 4 sections where students can study: - fine arts: painting, graphics, photo-video etc. - music: canto, piano, flute, drums, guitar etc. - architecture - choreography: classic dance

  11. There is a school choir and a school orchestra. There are 27 classes. • 8 primary classes: music and fine arts • 8 secondary classes:music, fine arts andchoreography • 12 high school classes: music, fine arts and architecture

High school students have an average number of 20 subjects • Except their ‘specialized’ subjects, all students study: Romanian, Hungarian(the students from the Hungarian section), French, English, German, Math, Geography, P.E. , History, Computer Technology etc. (‘general knowledge’ subjects)
