  3. Objectives of Safety Training 1. To Understand the need and importance of safe working in the factory and make it a way of life. 2. To creat a safety awareness among employees and to ensure safe working conditions through continuous improvement. 3. To reduce the occurrence of Accidents and ultimately achieve zero accidents.

  4. Definition of Accident It is an unplanned and unexpected event which causes or likely to cause an injury.

  5. Types of Accidents 1. No Injury Accidents 2. Minor Accidents 3. Serious Accidents 4. Fatal Accidents

  6. Importance and Need for Safety 1. Life is to live. 2. Human resources are precious with rich potential. 3. We work to meet our personal needs. 4. Safe working is a way of happy life.

  7. Causes of Accidents and Consequences 1. Mechanical – Unguarded 2. Environmental – Poor working condition (Indirectly contribute) 3. Human – Education, Age, Physical Fitness (Individual) Attitude towards work, Interest towards work, Fatique (Psychological factors), Ergonomics

  8. Causes of Accidents 1. Unsafe Conditions. (Physical / Mechaniacl) 2. Inadequately guarded. 3. In defective condition (Slippery, Rough, Sharp, corroded) 4. Unsafe design / construction (Exit, Storage)
