Impact of administering NADP on CCA operations • Federal government’s new accountability requirements take more time and expense to administer same $1.7 M allocation • Especially demanding is financial accounting, reporting and performance measurement activities • CCA is responsible for managing more aspects of NADP than YCW and ACDP

  3. Impact of administering NADP on CCA operations • Effect: • Secretariat spends more time administering contribution program • Executive Director must do operational tasks instead of supervising them • Board must do more planning and reporting activities • More demanding volunteer time commitment required • Delays other CCA activities

Impact of administering NADP on CCA operations • Board and Management Response: • Advising LAC about situation, effects and CCA response in its 2006/07 final report • Reviewing Secretariat capacity/capabilities and developing a human resource plan • Implementing zero based budgeting and improved annual work planning process • Terminating funding for ICA activities

  5. Impact of administering NADP on CCA operations • Response: • Limiting participation in Alouette Canada project • Preparing NADP application and adjudication guidebooks • Scaling back 2007/08 Business Plan • Saying “not now” to new commitments

  6. National Archival Appraisal Board • Provide key administrative and development support • Support revitalization activities and help organize Future of Monetary Archival Appraisal in Canada Conference to be held in Ottawa on October 22-23, 2007
