There are many parts in your car that play a crucial role in its smooth running and better performance. Most of the time car owners give importance to the major parts like the engine and transmission when it comes to maintenance and servicing. However, parts like the driveshaft are equally important as it plays a major role in the functioning of the steering & wheels of your car. Go through the slide to know the reasons behind your driveshaft making noises.
E N D
Every car has atleastone differential that allows the wheels to move & rotate.
As the engine is running, power goes into the transmission which then rotates the driveshaft.
The driveshaft then transfers power to the differentials which allow the wheels to rotate.
Here are the reasons behind your driveshaft making noise when accelerating.
The driveshaft has a tube that spins in the middle as the car is in motion. TUBING FAILURE
If the car carries too much load, then the tube will start to fail.
The first signs of this failing tube will be clunking noises or other strange sounds.
A failing universal joint will also cause the driveshaft to get loose & dislocated. LOOSE DRIVESHAFT
Each time you press the brake pedal or turn the steering, the noise will get louder.
This will also affect the differentials & wheels as they will not receive any rotational energy.
There are rubber bearings in your driveshaft that help in its functioning. MALFUNCTIONING BEARINGS
The rubber bearings help in connecting multiple areas of the driveshaft.
If any of these bearings malfunction, then your driveshaft will make noise.
Moreover, you will also experience vibrations coming from your car.
