C30-20060424-073 Channel Model for EMAH Ad-Hoc Motorola, Huawei, Qualcomm, Lucent, LGE, Samsung
Channel Model for System Level Simulations • There was a consensus that the 10 MHz simulations are optional after the EMAH decisions of April 26th. The only mandatory simulations are for 5 MHz system bandwidths. In this respect there is no need to extend the SCM channel model (at this time) for BW > 5 MHz. • There was a consensus that the 3GPP2 SCM urban macro-cellular environment will be mandatory – all proponents must provide results for this environment. • There was a consensus that the (yet to be defined) indoor picocell will be optional – proponents may provide results for this environment if they wish to do so. • There is a need to converge to some parameters for this optional environment as for example given in C30-20051205-015.
Channel Model for Link Level Simulations • There was a consensus that the link level simulations are not going to be used for proposal comparison. Link level simulation results will be provided for information. • There was a consensus that ITU profiles will be used for all link level simulations. • AWGN • Ped-A 3 km/h • Ped-B 3 km/h and 30 km/h • Veh-A 30 km/h and 120 km/h • Spatial extension: • Per Path Angle Spread of 2 deg at the BS and 35 deg at the MS. • Composite Angle Spread of 15 deg at the BS • For the set of (TBP) AoAs and AoDs and the complex velocity vector and the BS array normal angle apply the SCM formula for the generation of channel coefficient.
Channel Model for Fudge Factor Determination • There was a consensus that the mechanism for Fudge Factor determination is proposal dependent and either explicit link or analytical models can be used. • There was a consensus that all proponents should demonstrate the accuracy of the fudge factor • There was a consensus that the 3GPP2 SCM channel model for the urban macro environment will be used for generating the Fudge Factors. • The following velocities were agreed: • 3, 30 and 120 km/h • Doug (Motorola) will provide the Parameter Table for 64 realizations of the 3GPP2 SCM urban macro environment. • Method for validation of Fudge Factors • Plot the average PER vs. metric and the fudged PER vs. the same metric for one entry (row) of the specified Parameters Table for the three speeds. Figure of Merit is the distance between these fudged (virtually decoded) curves and the true decoded curve.
To Do • Parameter Table (Doug) • Decide on the velocity PDF
