Introduction • History: • First call for 802.11 WPAN : • First call date time : December - Email • Second call date time : Feb. 4 -Email and instructions • TG status date : March 30th • Concerns from some about not getting a chance to respond after the TG is formed. • “…[we] wanted to submit after the TG was formed so we did not have to politically support the Study Group…..” James D. Rules and Expectations • No Specific Rule Regarding the timing of CFPs • 802 By Laws, Clause 5.2.1.1 • Openness is defined as the quality of being not restricted to a particular type or category of participants. All meetings involving standards shall be open to all interested parties. • Any actions done by an SG cannot be binding on the subsequent TG [but could be approved by the TG afterwards.] • Until a PAR is authorized, the TG has no legal existence to enable opening or closure of a CFP.
