  2. What is the Women’s Center? The Women’s Center provides students with: • A library containing over 2,000 books, DVDs, Magazines and other resources • Access to information about sexual health, gender and social issues • Free condoms and female condoms • Free safety whistles • Computer Access • Free printing and copying • A safe place to relax, hang-out and confide

  4. What do interns do? Writing interns do the following: • Write press releases, business letters and announcements • Edit copy • Create the Potty Paper newsletter and posters • Help plan and attend events • Greet and accommodate to the needs of students and other visitors • Perform all office tasks

What skills are needed? • Adobe InDesign CS4 Interns create posters and the Potty Paper with this program • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Publisher) For smaller projects, such as book labels, Publisher is used. • Communication Interns are expected to communicate and collaborate with other staff members, and interact daily with students. • Research For many projects, research is required. When writing about events and speakers, it is necessary to obtain background and biographical information from the Web.

Who should apply? • The Women’s Center prides itself on equality (that means men are welcome too!) • Anyone with an interest in social and gender issues • Anyone who believes that men and women are equal and should be treated that way • People with interests/focuses in: desktop publishing, newsletter writing, public relations and/or business writing • Anyone who wants to make a difference
