LIBROS LEGE 2009 – The Contest The universal GOALS of the Contest: • 1. exploring other cultures throughliterature, • 2. developing reading habits, • 3. learning how to listen andcomprehend the text.
LIBROS LEGE 2009 - The Contest Each Contestant must: 1. have a valid Library Card 2. be over 13 years old (born before March 3rd, 1996) Please Note! The Contest is closed for English schools graduates, speakers and English language teachers.
A.The contest is carried out in 2 rounds: 1st Round at County/Community level 2nd Round – Final – at Warsaw Public Library B. Eachcontestant prepares 2 excerpts of American prose. The First Excerptfrom thelist of 10 titles; the performing time is limited to 3 minutes for each contestant. The Second Excerptis selected atRANDOMfrom the book„Flight of Eagles” by Robert Karolevitz . C.Each contestant is expected to conduct a short chat in English after the reading. None of them had Polish roots. Recognized as Polish national heroes the pilots were honoured with the highest Medal VIRTUTI MILITARI by General Jozef Piłsudski himself.
