Schizoid • Detachment from social relationships • Prefer being alone, “cold,” no need for attention/ or acceptance
Schizotypal • Acute discomfort in close relationships • Eccentric or odd behavior • Resembles schizophrenia

Histronic • Excessive emotional need for attention • Exagerated/ changing moods • “on stage”

Avoidant • Social inhibition and feelings of inadequacy • Sensitive to negative evaluation • Fearful of rejection
Dependent • Need to be taken care of • Submissive and Clingy • Rely on others • Fear separation
Obsessive/ Compulsive • Obsessed with orderliness, perfection and control
Antisocial • Disregard and violation of the rights of others • No empathy • Criminal behavior • DSM- “also referred to as psychopathy, sociopathy” (APA, 1994, p. 645)
Psychopaths? • they are not classified in the DSM • Many believe its an escalation from antisocial personality • Different brain wiring?
