OVERVIEW • Hours of Service • What is HOS • Action Tracker HOS • Application • Buyer Pain Points • Features • Benefits • Tablet Compatibility • Setup Requirements • Summary • Supporting Materials
Hours of Service (HOS) • ‘Hours of Service’ are regulations governing the working hours of most commercial drivers in the US or Canada • HOS limits the number of daily and weekly hours spent driving and working, and regulate the minimum amount of time drivers must spend resting in-between • Drivers are required to keep records of driving and working hours using a paper or electronic logbook • Main purpose of the HOS regulations is to prevent accidents caused by driver fatigue • Typically apply to interstate, intrastate and inter-province movement of commercial goods • Rules vary by country, state/province and industry; there are daily and weekly limits
Action Tracker HOS • Our HOS solution automates time-consuming manual paperwork required for hours of service compliance • It replaces paper with an tablet-based Android application, and becomes the driver’s digital logbook • Automated logging removes errors due to manual entry, enables automatic calculation of a driver’s availability • Becomes a real-time mobile log, including the full log history of the driver, and any vehicle inspection reports
HOS Automation Pain Points • Driver acceptance: Is the system easy to use? • Action Tracker HOS is designed for drivers: the flow is very similar to the way the driver currently does their Log and DVIR reporting. • Uses a familiar “look and feel,” so the time to learn it is greatly reduced • Driver logging errors: What if drivers forget to change their duty status? • Action Tracker HOS has automatic duty status change provisions built-in, and also includes an editor that managers can use to make changes to a driver’s log • Tracks the source of all duty status changes: driver entered, made automatically, or edited by a manager
HOS Automation Pain Points • Support for evolving HOS rules: does it accommodate the upcoming rule changes? • Action Tracker HOS is configurable for industry rules, so any changes or revisions can be added quite easily. • Many older HOS systems were not designed to be configurable, therefore change cost time and money • “DOT” Audit support: will it have the information I need? • Action Tracker HOS maintains all the historical log and DVIR information required for a DOT or ministry audit • Tracks all edits to a driver’s log, and keeps the original information as well as the edited version stored • Meets all US and Canadian regulations
HOS Features • Driver Features • Available Hours Reporting • Real-time on-duty and available drive hours • Roadside Inspection Mode • “Inspection” button provides all the information necessary for any roadside inspection of their DOT log, including log history • Automated Driver Inspection Report (DVIR) • Automates the driver’s vehicle and trailer inspection reporting • “Slip-seat” Capability • Drivers can change vehicles and can easily move their logbook information with them • Co-Driver/Driver Teams • Lets team drivers produce an team electronic log under their respective HOS rules
HOS Features • Manager Features • Driver Log Reports • Able to view individual driver DOT logs on demand, including current or archived logs • Available Hours Report • Provides each driver’s available hours of service information • Violations Reports • Indicates which drivers are in violation • Vehicle Inspections Reports • Provides real-time & archived DVIRs for all vehicles, enabling earlier defect resolution • Driver Log Archive • Historical information, accessible for any transportation authority (MTO, DOT, etc.) audit
Key Benefits • Reduces Manual Paperwork • Action Tracker HOS automatically tracks a driver’s on-duty hours and availability • Removes need to manually complete detailed calculations to ensure compliance with HOS rules • Portable Digital Logbook • Drivers can use their Android tablet to manage all their reports • View available hours, manage their status or complete vehicle inspection reports • Easily move logs between vehicles
Key Benefits • Improved Dispatching • Access to every driver’s on-duty hours and availability in real-time • Provides fleet managers with the information to make better decisions • Automatic Audit Readiness • Automatically archives driver log, an vehicle inspection information • Enables easier and faster preparation of the reports required for audits
