  2. #hypothesistesting Hypothesis testing is an important subject in the study of inferential statistics. We may have to answer questions about the data like “does the precision of my newly developed method is as good, if not better, than that of the corresponding ISO standard method?” or “is the flash point of this petroleum sample significantly lower than the product specification value?”. In answering these questions, we will determine the probability of finding the data given the truth of a stated hypothesis – hence hypothesis testing.
