1)Technology • My Math Lab • Grant Possibility – Pilot Program with JPS/Baker for dual enrollment??? • Explore My Math Lab using the instructor codes to find the interest in specific classes (all math lab group members)to share in February meeting • Look at Pilot Program (Joy Collier) • Outcome would be credit recovery • Grant Project (Teresa Double, Maureen Hesslau) • Pretest/Post test this year • Study Island (Jessica Trefry) • Data is built in and can be gathered easily • Supported by research
2)No Technology -- could survey to gain outcomes • Could be a class • Peer Tutor/College Tutor/List of Possible Tutors • Techniques (in class and outside class) • Sponsor Summer Camp for Reluctant Learners – ISD, Spring Arbor, districts, JAMA?? • After school class – 8th hour(At Risk $) or 2 days a week • Western Middle School Math Lab (Mike McKenney) and Springport High School Math Lab (Doug Maher) • Data – grade comparison or survey(ISD’s might work or Doug’s) and/or credit recovery • Peer tutor with colleges (Karen Trudeau) • List of contact people at the college – Spring Arbor, Baker College, JCC, Career Center, Siena Heights, MSU, Albion College, EMU, WMU, ……. • List of Community Resources ( Consumers, JAMA,…) (Denise Lotz) • Pretesting, Post testing, and retesting of K-12 Supported by research
3) Resources for Teachers (or resources to give students) • Wikipage (personal and/or math lab support) • Professional Development • Training – ISD to help train/mentor teachers for labs • Develop and Maintain a Wikipage for resources for remediation (Maureen Hesslau) • Data would include wiki statistics to see the usage • Possible Professional Development in the classroom and/or on site (Elementary Math Specialist overlap) will be discussed in February (Cindy VanGieson) • Supported by research
