Women’s Suffrage and the Jazz Age • More than 80 years women were granted the right to vote. • On June 4, 1919, Congress sent the amendment to the Constitution to the individual states for approval • This approval was issued in this exclusive period- the jazz age.
How it started? • School Board Elections • Seneca Falls Convention of 1848 • New York on the 19th and 20th of July 1848.
… How it Started • This was a convention issued by several anti- slavery leaders • Came to question the injustice towards women in politics and economic issues
