  2. What is an Angle? • The space between the two connecting rays are usually measured in degrees. The meeting point of the two sides or rays is called a vertex.

  3. Acute Angles • An acute angle is an angle smaller than 90 degrees and are closer together than an obtuse angle.

  4. Obtuse Angles • An obtuse angle is an angle that is more than 90 degrees, but smaller than 180 degrees. The space between the two rays is farther than an acute angle.

  5. Right Angle • A right angle is an angle that measures to 90 degrees on a protractor.

  6. Straight Angles • A straight angles on a protractor measures up to 180 degrees.

  7. Estimating Angles • To estimate an angle you must decide what type of angle it is. Then you know if it is less than 90 degrees or more. Next choose whether it is closest to 180 degrees or 90 degrees and make a pretend protractor if needed. Make sure your guess is educated.

  8. Protractor • A protractor is a math tool for accurately measuring angles using degrees. A protractor is to angles as a scale is to weight.
