DC-Citation WG DC-8 • Revisited recommendations • Are they still valid in the light of domain-specific developments? • Are they still relevant? • If so, is the previously-defined scope still appropriate?
Domains • Various DC domains (Libraries, Education, Science Informatics) also interested in this area • So, this is a cross-domain issue – but are the other DC domains also trying to deal with?
Open Issues • Is dc:identifier the right element for the bibliographic record (Jnl Title, Vol, Issue, Pages)? • How do we structure the data – DCSV? Citation-specific elements and qualifiers? • Scope – journal articles, conference proceedings, encyclopedias, etc. • Does this group look at architecture for multi-genre citation models?
Controlled vocabularies? E.g. jnl abbrevns? • Decision-making – getting to closure? • Endorsement – lobbying, passing on, enacting • Home for all issues, incl domain-specific, regarding writing bibliographic record in DC?
