Overall Purpose & Objectives • The program was designed to disseminate nursing knowledge of unitary science and practice for human betterment through applications in research, practice, aesthetics, education, and leadership • Objectives • Discuss opportunities for human betterment • Appraise evidence • Discuss strategies for development and use of unitary science knowledge to enhance human betterment in the spheres of education, practice, and leadership
Remembering • Being present with healing energy for Fran Biley - • Context of the development of the Rogers’ Science of Unitary Human Beings (SUHB) and recognizing her visionary presence • Visit by Dean Bladwin
Challenging • Consider the patterns of knowing as theories and define “evidence” as the theories • Consider our own work in terms of this perspective • In response an example was provided
Researching • Understanding the experience of unpaid caregivers of persons with mild dementia • Exploring the phenomena of healing in men’s healing from childhood maltreatment
Considering & Suggesting • The interconnectedness of three theoretical perspectives and synchrony fostering human well-being and bettering mankind – a dialog suggesting possibilities • Cultural experiences and learnings – considering relevance of the SUHB in diverse cultures

Implications • Sharing with a larger audience through publication in journals like Visions or new books • Considering new perspectives on evidence and being more explicit regarding theory development in our own research • Exploring Pandimensional Nursing Education • Celebrating and Nurturing the “Garden”
Thank you & Time for Evaluation • Safe Journey Home! • Post Script: • See you in New York in 2013 – the Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of SRS
