  1. Operation Paw Print By Julianne Latimer and Lauren Vick This is a puppy at New Hope Animal Rescue in Henderson, Kentucky.

  2. What is Operation Paw Print? Operation Paw Print is a project to raise money for New Hope Animal Rescue Center. They are in need of different pet supplies to take care of the animals that they have. Operation Paw Print is advertising fundraisers for New Hope Animal Rescue Center at Niagara Elementary School. We are trying to encourage students to think about animals at New Hope. Like this little guy:

  3. What Are We Collecting? This is one of the many cats at New Hope Animal Rescue. We are collecting pet supplies for New Hope Animal Rescue Center, such as: dog food, cat food, pet toys, bleach, dawn, paper towels, and cash donations. The animals at New Hope will be happy!

  4. Our Growth At first, we raised $36. But for the cutest pet contest, we raised $284! That is a 688% increase. Our goal for the Cutest Pet Contest was $100, but we raised almost 3 times as much! I bet the animals at New Hope Animal Rescue Center are happy! I’m Happy! Yeah!

  5. Cutest Pet Contest We hosted a “Cutest Pet Contest” and encouraged Niagara students to bring in pictures of their pet. Then, students brought in money to vote (it was 5 cents a vote) and the person who had the most votes got to have a party and their pet picture got to be put in our school lobby. The winner was Shelby Brown, a 4th grader from Niagara Elementary. The total amount of money we raised for the cutest pet contest was $284.51. Shelby collected over 25% of the votes!

  6. Technology Uses We used the following forms of technology: We used Microsoft Publisher to make brochures, posters, and bookmarks. We used an intercom to advertise to Niagara Elementary students about our project. We used Microsoft PowerPoint to make an informational PowerPoint. We used a camera and Windows Movie Maker to make a film for students of Niagara Elementary School. We used a microphone and speakers to announce to our school. We used Microsoft Excel to make a graph. We used an online T-shirt designer to make T-shirts.

  8. Quick Facts Here are some quick facts about dogs and cats in the United States of America: • Only one in ten dogs find a permanent home • Homeless animals outnumber homeless people 5 to 1. • 3 to 4 million dogs and cats are killed each year because shelters are too full • 5 to 7 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide each year.
