Alliteration • The repetition of initial consonant sounds of a word in one or more closely followed words. • Does not necessarily have to start with the same letter! • Ex. The cool cat carried a kite constantly.
Art Activity! • Think of a delicious desert to design! • Using the materials found on the table create a story or picture with dessert as your inspiration. • Then on a separate piece of construction paper write an alliteration to describe your picture! BE CREATIVE! THINK SWEET!
Modifications • For special needs students that have trouble with fine motor skills, these students could verbalize their sentence to the teacher or work with a partner that does not have that specific disability to help create the picture/sentence. Since various materials will be offered students with fine motor disabilities could use the materials that are best fit for them. • For blind students this activity could be more aural. They could record silly alliterations and perhaps add sound effects to enhance their sentence instead of a picture. • For gifted students they could write an entire tongue twister dealing with their pictures. They could also take their tongue twisters and perhaps make a song out of it.
