Users This tab is used for several administrative tasks: • Institution Profile • Site Profile • User Profile • Bulk Upload of Users—helpful with multiple sites • Student Profile • System Configuration • Transfer Test Units

Test Site Management • Purpose of test sites • Keep data separate • Keep test units separate • Unlimited test sites • Easy to create • Need to create a User to access a new test site IA
Steps to Add Test Site • Go to www.accuplacer.org • Login as Institution Administrator • Click Users in the Navigation Panel • Select Manage Profiles • Select Site Profiles • Click on the Add button • Enter Name of Site • Click Save
New Users: Login Credentials All new users receive an email from NO REPLY. • Email includes Username and link to create your password • Click on New User Login link and follow the steps • Allow NoReply@Accuplacer.infoto avoid email rejection/spam folder

User Management Creating Users • Institutional Administrators can add Users for any test site in their account • Site Managers can add Users only for the test site they manage • Refer to User Roles and Permission Levels document to decide which role to assign to your staff • Username duration is 12 months (must be extended prior to expiration) • Password duration is 6 months
User Error MessagesSolutions • If you are creating a new User and you get this error message, do the following: • Log on as IA • Click on Users/Manage Profile/Institution Profile • Add the email domain and save • **Note: If you are logged in as Site Manager, and get this message, you need to contact the IA to edit the Institution Profile page. • If you are creating a new User and you get this error message, do the following: • It means this username has been “taken” and you need to create a new username • Quick fix is to just edit the username by adding a number or symbol at the end. Example: danderson**
Steps to Add Users • Go to www.accuplacer.org • Login as Institution Administrator or Site Manager • Click Users in the Navigation Panel • Select Manage Profiles • Select User Profiles • Click on the Add button • Complete the new user form • Credentials good for 12 months only • Click Save

Testing Personnel Certification ACCUPLACER Certificate of Test Administration (ACTA)
ACTACertification • How many certification versions are there? • 1) Institutional Administrator and Site Manager—15 questions • 2) Proctor Reporter and Proctor—15 questions • If I serve as both roles, will I be required to take 2 certification tests? • Yes, if you are an IA/SM and a PR/P at your institution, you are required to know 2 levels of information • How long will I have to complete the certification test? • New users must complete ACTA before credentials will be fully activated. • How many times can I take the test? • Testing is unlimited and open book. A score of 100% is needed to pass. • How long will the certification be good for? • 12 months – annual renewal is required • How do I take the test? • You will be able to take both certification tests through your account, it is self proctored, and no units are required
Test Center Guidelines • Certified Proctors must be present at all times during testing. • Cell phones, cameras, other electronic devices are not permitted in testing center • Login credentials cannot be given to students • Unauthorized individuals are not permitted in testing center(e.g. parents, chaperones, non-testing students) • Strongly recommend one Proctor for every 15 to 20 students • All COMPANION items must be kept in a secure area and remain inaccessible to students until date of testing Important Reminders
Prohibited Items • Cell phones • Any device capable of recording audio or taking photos • Calculators (unless for a prescribed accommodation) • Student owned laptops, computers, or Chromebook • Student provided keyboards, computers, or other assistive devices (unless for a prescribed accommodation) • Dictionaries or other reference materials • Paper of any kind • Scratch paper must be provided and destroyed by the test center administrator A full list can be found in the Program Manual As a rule of thumb, all electronic devices are prohibited from the testing center except for electronic medical devices
Test Violation Protocol • Stop the test session • Confiscate the device to ensure neither pictures of the test content were taken nor text messages regarding the test sent/received. • Do not return the device to the test taker or delete any images or messages until it has been determined that test items have been compromised or cheating has occurred. • Notify the Institution Administrator or Site Manager to confirm the test should be invalidated*. • Send the issue to the College Board if test content has been comprised by emailing accuplacer@collegeboard.org • Flag the message as “Urgent” and include “Test Violation” in the subject line. • Do not send screen shots of the test items or messages. Instead, send the following information: • Student Name or ID, Exnum, Testing Date, Testing Location, Test(s) Name, Test Question Number(s) • *Invalidating the test session because of academic dishonesty is a local decision. Please use your professional judgement. If it is deemed appropriate according to an institution’s policies, then a test session should be invalidated. If a student is caught using a prohibited item such as a cellphone or other electronic device, during the administration of a test, the proctor should…
Device Policy • Use of a student-owned (personal) device is not permitted for testing unless a student has a documented need for an accommodation. • Any school-owned, student-issued device that is permitted to be taken home by students, is permitted for test administration, provided the proper security programs are configured on the device • Chromebooks must be configured to use the ACCUPLACER Chrome OS App to run in Kiosk Mode (available for free in Google Store) • We recommend all laptops use the Safe Exam Browser
Test Administration Standard and Voucher
Test Day • Prior to Test Day • Chrome Book Policy/ Safe Exam Browser (IT) • Check Student ID • CB ID Form • Digital Devices – NONE! • Pass out Scratch Paper • Distribute Vouchers • Administer Test • Collect Scratch Paper
Standard Test Administration • Go to accuplacer.org • Enter Username and Password • Click on Administer Test • Click on Administer New Test Session • Choose Branching Profile (test session to be administered to student) from dropdown menu • Click on Administer Test • Student reads student privacy policy and clicks Accept • Student enters demographic information and clicks Start Test. Resuming a Test Can a student complete their test session over multiple days? YES! Use the Save and Finish Later Functionality * Except for WritePlacer • Web address is www.accuplacer.org • Enter Proctor Credentials - User Name and Password • Click on Administer Test Tab from left side navigation panel • Click on Manage Test Session • Choose the Date Range and status Open(you do not have to enter in students name) Click Search • List of students will appear, click on Resume next to students name.
