PRACE (pre-)project (1/1/08-31/12/09) Setting up the PRACE research infrastructure • Organisational aspects: defining the legal form, the governance structure, the peer review system,… • Dissemination, outreach and training; relations with industry. • Technical management, deployment of prototypes. • Software enabling for Pflop/s systems, application requirements, benchmark suite. • Identify architectures of first production Pflop/s system(s) 2009-2010, prepare deployment. • Pflop/s computer technologies beyond 2010.
PRACE legal form • The PRACE RI is an international non-profit association with its seat in Brussels. The association is named ‘Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe AISBL’ and has 20 members. • A.I.S.B.L. : Association internationale sans but lucrative • Hosting partners (for now) • GCS (Germany), GENCI (France), CINECA (Italy), BSC (Spain) • Financing: 100 million euros per hosting partner • Machines • JUGENE
