Securing Funding for your Start-up Ensure that you can answer the following questions: Do you really need formal funding? Have you put as much of your own money into the business as possible? Do you have any type of collateral to secure the funding if necessary? What exactly do you need the funding for? Does your business plan and cash flow forecast indicate the exact amount needed and the proposed method of repayment? Do you need the whole amount at once? What are your current obligations regarding personal and business loans with any other financial institutions? Do you have a good reputation with your bank?
