Draeger Safety, Inc. is clarifying the specifications regarding the ambient temperature during operation of the Draeger BG-4 Closed Circuit Breathing Apparatus
The approved minimum permissible ambient temperature for the use of the BG-4 is -5°C 23°F.
The approved minimum permissible ambient temperature can be adjusted to -15°C or 5°F if the BG-4 is Stored at a temperature range of 20°C +/- 5°C or 68°F +/- 23°F.
The use of ice in the Cooling System is only required at ambient temperatures above 0°C (32°F).
At ambient temperatures below 0°C (32°F) ice is not required to be used.
Draeger Safety, Inc. recommends when using the BG-4 to follow themaximum ambient temperature criteria: • In maximum ambient temperatures of up to 40° or 104°F the apparatus with the cooling medium may be used up to 4 hours.
In maximum ambient temperatures of up to 60°C or 140°F the apparatus with the cooling medium may be used up to 1 hour.
