  2. Info • He was born in Bonn, Germany on December 16th, 1770. • Died on March 26th, 1827.

  3. Childhood • Parents were Johann van Beethoven and Maria Magdalena Keverich. • He was one of seven children, only 3 survived. • Grandfather and father were both musicians. • At age twelve the first of his music was published.

  4. Beethoven At 17 he went to Vienna, soon he came back to Bonn, where he was born, to take care of his dying mother. Five years later he returned to Vienna to live and work. He studied composition and counterpoint. At the same time, he tried to establish himself as a pianist and composer.

  5. Music • He wrote symphonies, sonatas, concertos, and other orchestral work. • His most famous work was the 9th symphony.

  7. Ludwig van Beethoven • He began to go deaf around the age of 27 and became deaf just a few years later. • He still wrote music during and after this time.
