  2. Web Quest • This web quest will be exploring natural resources. • SOL: First Grade Science • Resources • 1.8 The student will investigate and understand that natural resources are limited. Key concepts include • identification of natural resources (plants and animals, water, air, land, minerals, forests, and soil); • factors that affect air and water quality; and • recycling, reusing, and reducing consumption of natural resources.

  3. What is the about? Natural Resources is the natural wealth of a country, consisting of land, forests, mineral deposits, water, etc. We are going to discover how natural affect our waters, wildlife, wildlife habitat, solid waste, recycling, and hazardous waste. Natural Resources

  4. Activity 1 • Explore the watershed and water quality section of the website. • You will explore • Ground Water • Surface Water • After explore these you will take the • Salmon Challenge • Click on the water drop to go the website

  5. Activity 2 • Find out what type of animals live in a snag! • This activity you will see the importance of how a tree is important to the wildlife. • Click anywhere on the forest background to go to the website

  6. Activity 3 • You will explore • “All about our garbage” • “How do I sort my garbage” • “What happens to my recyclables and garbage.” • “How do I reduce my garbage” • Click on the trash can to go to the website

Activity 4 • You will explore • Household Hazardous Waste • You will visit the link on this page in order to see what products in your home could be hazardous. • This will help you recognizing products in your house so that you can tell your parents that they could be harmful. • Click on the toxic waste picture to go to the website.
