Employment Verification:Lessons Learned Why did the EAB implement this data verification reporting process? • Began collecting employment data in mid 1990s. • Ensure integrity and reliability of data being reported. • Quality, accountability, institutional effectiveness. • Data is central to evaluating the success of schools and their completers.

Employment Verification:Lessons Learned What did the EAB expect to find out by doing this six-month trial? • How many schools would be able to report the data? • Are there sector specific issues related to reporting data? • What issues/problems did schools have in reporting the data? • What changes need to be considered for future reporting?

Employment Verification:Lessons Learned What did the EAB find? • ~50% schools provided complete or partial data. • Schools reported annual data will be easier to report. • Contact with employers was least reported data. • Summary of Reporting Categories • Employer Name – 35% • Position/Title – 50% • Employer Contact Information – 50% • Start Date – 40% • Contacted Employer – 30%
