  2. What is Deconstruction • It is finding self-contradictions in a body of work • You realize that there are two sides to every story and support the side that is least obvious • In other words, you play devil’s advocate!!

  3. How to Apply Deconstruction • Recognize the existence and operation of binary oppositions in our own thinking • Seek differences • Rid of what you already know—you are taking a “side” you don’t normally take • According to deconstructors, we cannot simultaneously see both sides of a story • We simply ignore our first interpretation to accept the second
