  1. The Prophesy Fulfilled The King’s Second Coming Chapter 22 & 23

  2. IS THE END NEAR? Ever been warned by another that the end is VERY near? Ever read an “end times” book? Why are people so transfixed on this? Is it wrong to “look for signs”? There have been almost 250 predicted dates for the “end of the world” or the “Return of Christ” starting in 44 AD and running up to Dec. 22nd 2012.

  3. “False Prophets” & Soothsayers… • The Early Church Christians (1st Century) • Muslims (7th Century) • Painter Sandro Botticelli (1504) • Michael Stifel (1533) • Jacob Bernoulli (1719) • William Miller (1843 & 1844) • Native Americans (1891) • Jehovah’s Witness (1914, 1915, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1941, 1975, 1994, 1997) • David Wilkerson (mid-1970’s, 2009) • William Branham (1977) • Adam Rutherford (1977) • Jim Jones (1978) • John Todd (1978-1980) • Hal Lindsey (1981, 1988, 2007) • R.E. McMaster (1982) • Edgar Whisenant (1988, 1989, 2008) • Colin Deal (1988) • Elizabeth Clare Prophet (1990) • Louis Farrakhan (1991) • Rollen Stewart (1992) • Harold Camping (1994, 2011) • Heaven’s Gate (1997) • Mayan Calendar (2012) • Nostradamus (2014)

  4. THE DESTRUCTION OF THE TEMPLE & SIGNS OF THE END TIMES Matt. 24:1-35 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. What prompts the disciples' curiosity in the “end of the age” What does Jesus warn them of? What is a “false prophet”, “false messiah”?

  5. THE DESTRUCTION OF THE TEMPLE & SIGNS OF THE END TIMES Matt. 24:1-35 What does Jesus say will precede His second coming? • Wars & rumors of wars • “Abomination of Desolation” • Nations will rise up against nation • Kingdom will rise up against kingdom • Famines & earthquakes • You will be handed over, persecuted & put to death • Hated by all nations because of Me • Many will turn away from the faith, betray & hate one another • Many false prophets will appear & deceive many • Increase of wickedness, love grows cold • The Gospel of The Kingdom will be preached to all nations

  6. THE DESTRUCTION OF THE TEMPLE & SIGNS OF THE END TIMES Matt. 24:1-35 What is the “Abominations that causes Desolation”? This is referring to Daniel 9:27, “He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing [of the temple] he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.” In 167 B.C. a Greek ruler by the name ofAntiochus Epiphanies set up an altar to Zeus over the altar of burnt offerings in the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. He also sacrificed a pig on the altar in the Temple in Jerusalem. This event is known as the abomination of desolation. In Matthew 24:15, Jesus was speaking some 200 years after the abomination of desolation described above had already occurred. So, Jesus must have been prophesying that some time in the future another abomination of desolation would occur in a Jewish temple in Jerusalem. Most Bible prophecy interpreters believe that Jesus was referring to the Antichrist who will do something very similar to what Antiochus Epiphanies did.

  7. FOR THEIR WILL BE GREAT DISTRESS… “For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time. “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

  8. AFTER THE “ABOMINATIONS” THERE WILL BE SIGNS IN THE SKY “Immediately after the distress of those days “‘the sun will be darkened,    and the moon will not give its light;the stars will fall from the sky,    and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. Jesus references Isaiah (Isaiah 13:9-10; 34:4)! How will “all the people” respond to Christ’s second coming? How will His coming be announced?

  9. THE LESSON OF THE FIG TREE “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. What “lesson” does Jesus ask us “to learn”? What is the source of our “confidence” and “peace”?

  10. THE DAY & HOUR UNKNOWN “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. Who will know when the return of Christ will be? Why does Jesus compare his return to “the days of Noah”?

  11. THEREFORE KEEP WATCH…BE READY Matt. 23:1-12 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. “The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. Explain the parable of the wise & foolish servants?

  12. THE PARABLE OF THE 10 VIRGINS Matt. 25:1-13 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.'" 'No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.”

  13. THE PARABLE OF THE BAGS OF GOLD Matt. 25:14-30 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more.  So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.” “Well done, good and faithful servant!” OR “You wicked, lazy servant!”

  14. THE SHEEP & THE GOATS Matt. 25:31-46 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from anotheras a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ Who are the sheep? Who are the goats?
