  1. Floating Homes Association and Friends of the Marin City Library Here are some of the things you helped us do in 2017! Marin City Library thanks you!

  2. Civic Education Program with Performing Stars of Marin We participated in the Performing Stars “Thank you, Mr. President” tribute to Barack Obama at the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center. You helped us create a beautiful display and buttons to honor our President Obama.

  3. Civic Education Program with Performing Stars of Marin Civic Education Programs with Performing StarsKids learned about State symbols and about the flora and fauna of Muir Woods.

  4. Civic Education Program with Performing Stars of Marin Civic Education Programs with Performing StarsWe even got a shout-out from Cheryl Jennings!

  5. Performing Stars’ Enlighten Conference for Girls: STEAM Fields We worked with performing stars showcasing vr at their all girls enlinghten conference.

  6. Monthly Film Series Each month we show a different film showcasing the black experience. You provide refreshments and access to some of our films.

  7. Human Trafficking Film Series Becky worked with Laurel Botsford from shared hope international to host a film series on human trafficking. You provide refreshments and access to some of our films.

  8. Continued Partnership with Marin Housing Authority As part of our work with Marin Housing authority on the book rich environment initiative, We coordinated Books & bbq with mha and our other community partners. We gave away over 450 books (toddler through high school)!

  9. Other Marin City Community Events We worked with Deputy Jerod Kansanback to offer Sheriff’s storytime and to support national night out. You purchased glow-in-the-dark bracelets to help kids be seen and stay safe when they are out after dark.

  10. Back to School Rally You purchased school supplies: writing pads, pens, pencils, and more!

  11. Partnerships with the National Park Service You purchased boxed lunches for a group of kids that our partner ranger jasmine took to the presidio and crissy field.

  12. Partnerships with the National Park Service You purchased refreshments for our where’s Rodney author event with Carmen Bogan and you bought autographed copies of the book for each child in attendance!

  13. Read for the Record 2017: Another Partnership with Marin Housing Authority that you helped support! You purchased copies of this year’s book, quackers for kids in preschool at the Marin City Learning Center and Head Start programs as well as kids at bayside MLK and Willow creek in K-2.

  14. Our 3rd Annual Not-So-Spooky Halloween Party You purchased refreshments and crafts for over 100 attendees! It’s a tradition that parents and children look forward to each year.

  15. Our 2nd Annual Snowman Social You purchased refreshments and crafts for over 60 attendees! It’s a tradition that parents and children look forward to each year.

  16. Some of our 15 Minutes of Fame Because you have supported us through the years, we have been able to accomplish a lot of work towards bridging equity and achievement gaps. In turn, this has put us in the spotlight! Here we are at national library legislative day. And Etienne and Diana got to meet Congressman john lewis at the national conference of African American librarians in Atlanta where they did a presentation on the library’s work in marin city.
