  9. My Artifacts and Design • Design as representation of culture: My choice of purchases shows a representation of culture because it gives insight to current style and popular trends. • Design as a process: Most of these items are all made incredibly well, often handmade. Places like Wrigley Field have unique stories of their design, from creation to the evolution of the design over time. • Design as a form of media: My iPhone, MacBook, and PS4 are all methods of media and connectivity. These devices allow for users to communicate with others, whether that be formal (MacBook/iPhone) or social (PS4). • Design as a product of consumerism: I think most of the items I’ve bought are an expression of functionality, with emphasis on design. For instance, my watch, my glasses, and my Chaco's easily fit this, as they are functional to my daily life, yet they are designed in order to make the function of these objects more enjoyable.

  10. My Artifacts say that I am: • A sports fanatic. I absolutely love sports, and sports have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. • An Explorer. My Chacos, as well as the destinations I have ventured to speak a story of curiosity and wonder of things and places unknown. • A living breathing person. Someone who seeks relationships, seeks to get the fullest out of life, and finds value in pictures, religion, etc. • Someone who seeks functionality in life. • Someone who seeks connectivity to the world.

  11. What these Artifacts mean to me • My MacBook is an extension of my human body. Through school, or everyday life, my MacBook is a tool I use throughout every day, and something that allows me to stay connected. • My Kroger name tag tells that I am a hard worker, who takes pride in good work. • The University of Kentucky says that I am a dreamer, someone who dreams of the future and the hope of living a happy life.

  12. What these artifacts mean to me • Pictures are really important to me as they capture memories and capture moments we never want to forget. • My fossil watch means functionality and style to me. I would much rather look at my wrist, than my phone to check what time it is, and it looks really nice as well! • My Bible means a lot to me as I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and this allows me to seek that relationship. • My Chaco’s are a representation of adventure, not just in where I wear them, but venturing out of normal shoe wear styles in wearing them!

  13. What these artifacts mean to me • Rupp Arena is a place I hold near to my heart as I grew up in love with Kentucky Basketball, and it was a dream of mine as a child to see Kentucky play there. • Steak is important to me, not only because I love good food, but I love eating with people and sharing conversation over meals. • Baseball cards are a tangible piece of my fascination with an American past-time. Something I wanted to get into as a child and was never really able to, birthed the spark of collecting as a teenager.

  14. What these artifacts mean to me • Chicago is really important to me, as it is one of my favorite places I have ever been. It is not comparable to the normal environment, and I love the big city feel. • My journal is important to me as it allows me to write down my thoughts and prayers that may come to my mind. • My glasses are an important piece of my daily life, but they are also a piece of style I wear every day, and something that allows me to live with smaller boundaries.

  15. What these artifacts mean to me • Wrigley Field is an important artifact to me as it’s story is fascinating. The history behind how the structure adapted to the needs and demands of consumers is remarkable, as well as how it is a piece of history in its age. • My iPhone allows me to stay connected on various levels, it allows me to communicate, but also allows me to retrieve information with ease. • My Karl Towns jersey means a lot to me as I love Kentucky basketball, and it is a piece of clothing that shows my pride in the program here at UK.

  16. What these artifacts mean to me • Diet Coke is something I am carrying more often than not, it is my favorite drink and provides me caffeine as I hate coffee! • The Beach is important to me as the beach has been the site of many family memories, memories I will never forget. • My Ps4 means the ability to bond and provides a social experience for me and my friends in down time. • My Eno is important to me as it allows me to have a brief moment of adventure and relaxation.

  17. My Artifacts individually can speak about who I am as a person, what I value in life, and how these things enhance my life!
