What is ODYSSEY? • Work as a language assistant • Live in another province or territory • September to May (25 hrs/week) • $18,500 and travel allowances • Training session in Quebec City
The Role of a Language Assistant • Support teachers by organizing cultural and linguistic activities. • Support students and emphasize fluency in speech. • Help students discover English and anglophone culture.
The Role of a Language Assistant Language assistants arenot intended to replace teachers.

Eligibility Criteria • English must be your first (dominant) language. You must be proficient in both oral and written English. • You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. • Within the last ten years, you must have obtained at least one year of postsecondary studies.

Next Steps • March: You will receive a letter inviting you to an interview. • April-May: Your application will be forwarded to the province or territory where you could be assigned. • May-June: You will receive a letter indicating the status of your application (accepted or wait list).
